Qingdao is a beautiful place, but the people aren’t beautiful…since the reform and opening, people have become more distant from each other emotionally; the space between them has gotten wider.

In the past, you could walk up the hills in the North and see that the three tallest buildings in Qingdao were the churches. Now, you can’t see them at all – tall buildings have sprung up everywhere. Every generation has a generation gap, but it seems like now it’s not generational – every few years people’s thinking changes even more.
