The Townsend Acts is the personal web site of Daniel Townsend—me. I’m a 1L at Yale Law School, and have studied political thought as an undergraduate at Yale and a Fulbright Fellow in Nanjing, China. I’m interested in issues of law and political philosophy; more concretely, that means that I write about issues in US law and politics, China, and bio/tech. I started the blog section in May 2012, but have slowed its pace since entering law school. The “Founding Documents” section is an ongoing set of posts meant to serve as starting points for the recurring topics of the blog. Right now, the blog tilts in the directions of China and US Politics; future topics include more on bioethics issues and a long-term project about the philosopher Isaiah Berlin.
